New Addition to SERVE

IMG_0892Many of you are aware of our prayer to grow the Serve Kenya Ministries team. This has been an ongoing prayer request for a while now. God answered this prayer earlier this year by giving Ben a wife in Abbie and for that we are grateful.

The demand for our time in traveling and training pastors around the East African region has increased a lot in the recent months. Our small team shrunk further when Ben took a few months leave of absence after the wedding earlier this year. This increased the weight on our shoulders for the work of God in Kenya and East Africa. This burden pushed us further in prayer to the Lord of the harvest who commands us to pray for the laborers.

After several months of searching both in America and here, God finally brought us a couple to join our team. Gedion and Helen (Mimo) Kadu accepted to join our team and will start officially on May 1st 2014. Gedion is a long time friend that I knew right after High School and we served in various ministries together before our paths parted a few years ago. We stayed in touch through the years though.

Gedion graduated from Scott Christian University in July 2006 and has since done pastoral ministry in various churches in Kenya and taught in several Bible institutions and as at the time he accepted the position at SERVE he was working with Timothy Initiative  a church planting movement that equips church planters to plant reproducing and multiplying churches. He was working directly with the International Director in 19 African countries.

Gedion and Mimo have been married 5 years and God has blessed them with two wonderful kids Theo and Qara…We are blessed and honored to have these very gifted and passionate servants of Jesus join our efforts in Cultivating, Equipping and Mobilizing Christian Leaders in Kenya.

Please pray for them as they transition from Nairobi to join us in Ukunda – there is a lot of logistics that goes with such a big move. Also Join our team in Praising the Lord Jesus for this amazing blessing!!

Thank you so much for partnering with us in this work since the first day!!! God is good all the time!!
